Ability to have a clear vision as well as the ability to communicate it effectively to all employees and the clients
Ability to establish control accounts, where cost, schedule, and scope management take place
Ability to effectively move information between resources in the project. Negotiating effectively, managing conflict wisely, and mediating constructively
Ability to treat people fairly and exhibit responsible, ethical behaviour towards subordinates and make employees feel secure, protected, and confident in knowing that there is no room for injustice or discrimination
Ability to identify all people or organizations impacted by the program and its projects, and document relevant information regarding their interests & involvement.
Ability to understand the political environment and to form positive relationships so that the full benefits of the program can be realized.
Ability to have a strong knowledge base and understanding of the organization and its business practices as well as familiarity with technologies used in the projects within the program. Ability to have not only the “hard skill” of technical expertise, but also detailed cross-functional knowledge
Ability to have a sound understanding of financing their programs with alacrity, economy, and efficiency. Familiar with the financial aspects of the program to control the budget at all times.
Ability to identify risks, measure their potential for harm, and create plans to deal with the threats. Ability to carefully collect and consider as many factors as possible that can affect success and recommend a strategy to mitigate risk
Ability to have more focus on the horizontal domain and less on the technical capabilities. Ability to have increased competencies related to strategic efforts over tactical skills which can be delegated.
